Drivers have been protesting on social networks such as Twitter, Orkut and Facebook for a few weeks now, and now these protests have taken to the streets of some Brazilian capitals.

It all started with the increase in the price of alcohol, justified Special Data by the sugar cane off-season. As far as I know this is a cartel, an economic crime. However, nothing has been done here for years, giving the impression that gas station owners and distributors have more power than regulatory and supervisory bodies.

Yesterday, April 28, President Dilma Roussef signed a provisional measure that reduces the minimum amount of anhydrous alcohol in gasoline to between 18% and 25%. Currently, the amount can vary from 20% to 25%. This measure alone is still very little. We need more attitude and supervision, we want to see cartel organizers arrested and gas stations and distributors fined for abusive prices. Is this too much to ask.
